Editing your site

Use this section to help you answer questions you might encounter while editing your site in iTunes U Public Site Manager.

Help button When are my edits live?

When you publish your iTunes U Public Site Manager provider page.

Content in iTunes U Public Site Manager does not go live immediately. Instead, using iTunes U Public Site Manager, you can create, edit, preview, navigate, verify, and stage content before publishing it live to your users. You can make sure your content is exactly how you want and ready to be featured as a collection or item in a feature box within your provider page before you publish, so there is no need to create private sections to hide content.

The first time you publish your site, it can take 6 to 10 hours to display your site in the iTunes U area in the iTunes Store and to display your site name in the iTunes U providers lists. Depending on your changes, subsequent publish requests can take several minutes to up to 24 hours before the changes are live in the iTunes U area in the iTunes Store.

Note: Edits you make to a previously published feed in iTunes U Public Site Manager are live to your users in the iTunes Store, without clicking Publish in the publish manager page.

Help button Why is iTunes U Public Site Manager not displaying my feed editor edits in the collections manager page?

If you want the edits you made in the feed editor immediately reflected in the collections manager page, you must click “Return to Collections Manager” in the menu bar.
