Administering your site
Use this section to help you answer questions you might encounter while administering your site in iTunes U Public Site Manager.
Can I add additional administrators to my site in iTunes U Public Site Manager?
Yes. You can use the users manager page in iTunes U Public Site Manager to add additional users. For more information, see “Adding users.”
Important: Only one administrator at a time can sign in to manage your site in iTunes U Public Site Manager, but more than one contributor can sign in at the same time to add or edit content in your site.
How do I control user access to specific content?
All of your published content is visible to all users who access your site.
You cannot hide content based on user credentials and privileges. However, you can create, edit, preview, navigate, verify and stage content within collection pages before publishing it live to your users.
Can I define track preferences for my site?
You control track preferences within your feed, or, for Apple-hosted content, by editing metadata using the iTunes U Public Site Manager feed editor. iTunes U Public Site Manager applies these preferences per collection or item, not across your entire site. For more information, see “About the feed editor.”
Can I use Podcast Producer push upload workflows with iTunes U Public Site Manager?
Yes. You can use your Podcast Producer push upload workflow to update your Apple-hosted public content. To use your Podcast Producer push upload workflow you need:
The collection handle. You can find the collection handle in the Channel pane of the feed editor for a specific collection in iTunes U Public Site Manager.
The site address, transfer key/secret, and credential. You can find the site address, transfer key/secret, and credential in the Podcast Producer Configuration section in the site settings manager page in iTunes U Public Site Manager.
By updating your push upload workflow to use the site information, making sure to add -dz to the end of your site address and credential and adding the collection handle to the end of your site address, and using the MergeTrack web service, you can use Podcast Producer push upload workflows to update your Apple-hosted public content within iTunes U Public Site Manager.
