Uploading items
If you are hosting content on Apple servers, you can use the feed editor to manually upload content to a collection in your site.
To upload items to a collection:
Click Collections at the top of iTunes U Public Site Manager.
Click Apple Hosted in the Feed column for the collection where you want to upload items.
As a contributor, click Edit Feed in the Title column for the collection where you want to upload items.
Click Items.
Click the Add button to upload a new item.
Click Add File, and then click Choose File to select the file you want to add.
For performance and usability, Apple recommends an upper limit of 50 items. If a feed has a large number of items, your content is less likely to be featured in iTunes U and can be more difficult for users to search and browse, thus making your content less discoverable.
To cancel the upload, click Cancel.
Repeat step 5 for each file you want to add to the collection.
If you update a collection (for example, you add or remove an item, update a category, or edit a feed), you do not need to publish your site for the changes to appear in iTunes U in the iTunes Store. Changes not requiring you to publish your site can take up to 24 hours to appear in the iTunes Store (provider-hosted content can take up to 48 hours). To force an update sooner, click the Refresh button in the Actions button bar in the collections manager.
Notes:
The feed editor must remain open until all uploads finish.
iTunes U Public Site Manager only accepts files for upload that are less than 1 gigabyte (GB). To create smaller files, try editing down information within the file or using high-quality compressed file formats, such as AAC and H.264.
