Hiding a course
When you publish your site, all your content is live in the iTunes U area in the iTunes Store and visible to the public. If you are ready to publish but have specific content you do not want to make visible to the public, you can use the Hide and Unhide toggle buttons to temporarily block the content from your users. For example, if you have an out-of-season or newly added course not ready for publishing, you can hide the course from your iTunes U Public Site Manager site without losing any information. When you are ready to publish the content, you simply unhide the course.
To hide a course:
Click Courses at the top of iTunes U Public Site Manager.
Select the course you want to hide.
Shift-click or Command-click to select more than one course in the courses manager.
Click the Hide button in the Actions button bar.
For a New course, iTunes U Public Site Manager changes the status to Edited and displays the course in the hidden courses table. The course is added to your site but hidden from your users.
For a previously published course in the iTunes U area in the iTunes Store, iTunes U Public Site Manager changes the status to Edited and displays the course in the hidden courses table. The course page is hidden when you publish.
Before you publish, if you want to unblock the content, select the course in the courses manager and click the Unhide button in the Actions button bar.
After you publish, when you are ready to display the content live to your users, select the course in the courses manager and click the Unhide button in the Actions button bar. iTunes U Public Site Manager reverts the course status. The course is live when you publish your site again.
When you hide a course, iTunes U Public Site Manager hides the course content throughout your site. You cannot feature the hidden course or items in your provider page, search for content within the course, display the course in tag or category pages, and so on. In addition, hidden courses are not subject to the publishing criteria.
If you add, remove, or hide a course or collection or update an iTunes U Public Site Manager page, you must publish your site for the changes to appear in iTunes U in the iTunes Store. Publishing changes can take up to 24 hours to appear in the iTunes Store.
